Body Butters; My winter 2013 favourites.
Soap and Glory body butter in The Righteous Butter says it is for very dry skin and claims to make you feel like you're wearing velvet. Now I'm not sure if I'd say velvet but it does make my skin feel deeply moisturiser, although a little greasy. And it smells lovely, very luxurious but I wish it lasted longer. But it's stunning for the money, and I'd totally recommend it. Next onto Soap and Glory's Butter Yourself super rich body cream which smells super fruity but also grown up and spa-like. It's beautiful, and not as greasy as The Righteous Butter. Soap and Glory's last offering is Sugar Crush body buttercream which is described by them as a Shea and Cocoa nut balm with lime and almond oils and kiwi fruit. But in my eyes, or nose, it straight up smells like a sweet margarita that you just wanna put all over your body. I think this is actually my favourite scent out of these first three, although Butter Yourself is a close second. Ironic that those are the ones I have in the smaller size, but hey, I will be using them all no matter what. Especially as one of my New Years resolutions was to moisturise at least every other day, which so far I am about keeping too! Oh and all three formulas are £10.50 for 300mls, bargain!
On to the Body Shops famous, fabulous body butters. I currently have the scents gingerbread and pink grapefruit, both £10 normally but there are often offers or sales, they are both very different yet lovely in their own way. The grapefruit is fresh and zesty and perfect for when you need an extra boost of energy in the morning! And the gingerbread is just a divine gingery treat for your skin, like Christmas in a tub! Now on to Nip and Fab's offering in the scent Pistachio Sundae, it is marketed for dry skin, well like it says on the tin, it smells like pistachio's. And It is also an amazing dupe for Laura Mercier's Creme de Pistache SoufflĂ© Body Creme which retails at £44.50 in the House of Fraser.
That leads nicely on to my high end body butter treats that come out as a pampering treat now and then. These come in the form of Laura Mercier's fresh fig body butter, which I got in a set with a perfume, shower creme and hand creme in the same scent, all for £30. Which smells like rich figs and has an oddly warming scent and quality in it. One of my favourite aspects of this body butter is that it genuinely sticks around until you next have a shower, and when the whole kit is used in conjunction (which I normally try to do) it's amazing. And I always get complements saying I smell nice when I do that! And Jo Malone's grapefruit body creme which is admittedly tiny at 15mls and I got in a Christmas set so admittedly I don't know how much it would retail for but the 175ml is a whooping £50. Therefore I defiantly won't be repurchasing but it is amazing to have whilst it lasts, with its combined grapefruit and slightly luxuriously masculine scent and with such a silky yet non-greasy formula.
Hope you've enjoyed this! Oh, and happy Sunday!
