January Favourites!
Let's start things off as they mean to go on, with one of my favourite posts to read, a monthly favourites.
Firstly let's look at Urban Decays offerings. Now if I'm honest I got the Naked 3 palette, £37 from Debenhams, at the end if December but I have now thoroughly play around with it and it's love. With its rose gold hues and mixture of light to dark, matte, shimmer and full on glitter packed eye shadows, what's not to love? I was apprehensive at first, worried as I had always avoided the pink and purple eye shadows, but it is amazing. The palette has a massive mirror with is great for travelling and a double ended brush which is very good quality. My personal favourite shades are limit and nooner, which I love for crease shades, as well as buzz and trick which I layer together for the ultimate rose gold experience! But seriously, all the shades are beautifully pigmented and coloured. My second Urban Decay favourite is actually a passed on piece from my mum, I think she paid £14. It is the 24/7 glide on pencil in 1999, it's a rich cranberry colour with a bit of shimmer in and it goes hand in hand with the Naked 3 palette. Adding that extra boost of colour when needed. And lastly a Urban Decay revolution lipstick in the shade Naked, it's a lovely slightly pinky brown. The perfect neutral, and I know that's a big statement to make with so many being on the market at the moment. And in my eyes, worth the £14 price tag.
For the face I've been loving Rimmels Wake Me Up foundation, I have the shade light porcelain, which really isn't as light as it sounds! But it is perfect for me at the moment. I was dubious about buying this as I have oily skin, and when you're working for 14.5 hours a day on a hot ward it's all I can do to try to not look like a frying pan! Although this foundation gives the perfect coverage for me, light to medium, and enough colour to even skin tone and dull down my uber red cheeks! And you know what it does last, I'm not sure id say with confidence that it does my full day but it lasts better than many others I've tired and is a steal at £8.99. My bronzer pick is Estée Lauder's a bronze Goddess in 01 Light, I'm rather the bronzer virgin and this is only the second I currently own, but I'm loving the light wash of colour it adds to my face. Making me look healthily and more awake, worth the £30 I paid. Now for hair. I have always been curious about Bumble and Bumble but vary of their large price tag at the same time. So with my Christmas money I treated myself to a product that I thought was a good all rounder as such, the Brilliantime creme. It says it give hair polish and a sort of slept in sexy look, which I half agree with. It makes my hair very shiny and healthily looking, hiding my split ends and taming frizz. It's a must of my hair routine now, I've defiantly been spoilt by this product! We'll worth splashing the cash, and it is a splash at £18.
On my latest Benefit finds, and loves. To begin, Benefits latest offering to the beauty world, the fabulous the Porefessional Zero Shine Agent, coming in at a smooth £24.50. This claims to banish shine and pores, as well as being super fine and silky feeling, which I can say it does on me, within reason. As not powder can banish shine for a whole day, or at least I'm yet to discover one. I brought this mostly for its compact features, having a decent little kabuki brush that folds and clips into the bottom it is great for handbag touch ups. Yet I have found myself reaching for it in the mornings too, and that's always a sign I rather like something! And last, but defiantly not least is Benefit's Dandelion, £23.50. Now I'm well aware that this has been out for yonks, but I never went to buy it as there was always something else that caught my eye, and simply I've been missing out. This is my perfect natural shade and it's work friendly. It's a perfect light pink, slightly brown toned blusher with has the smallest bit of sparkle in it, making it fab for an everyday neutral makeup look. I've literally worn it even day day since I brought it, so it's a true hit!
Thank you for reading my January Favourites! And I will be back soon with a review on the Urban Decay Naked Lipglosses I may have naughtily purchased today....
